as far as I can tell you need a paid wordpress .org site in order to upload your own themes, or at least as far as I have read.
ReplyDeleteAny suggestions otherwise?

There are many other choices. You can get your own hosting and install Wordpress... or get a free blog from Blogger or Tumblr.
I will be listing some great free Blogger portfolio themes soon.. and maybe Tumblr another time. :)
don't you need paid wordpress org site in order to do this?
ReplyDeleteNo, you don't have to pay for the wordpress site, just for hosting, which you get from someone other than wordpress. Once you have the hosting set up and a domain name, you can download wordpress to your site and start building it. All you have to pay for is your hosting and the domain name.
